This clear fluid oil extracted from olives has a natural affinity with the skin, as squalene is one of the main components of sebum and our hydrolipidic film. It contains antioxidant properties that protect the skin from many types of environmental damage that ravage the skin on a daily basis such as pollutants, the sun and the wind. The lipoproteins in squalene form lipofuscin, an anti-aging substance. It may also assist with prevention of cell damage and assist in preventing the formation of harmful lipid peroxide that can destroy vitamins in the skin. By protecting the skin cells from oxidation, plant based squalene may assist in slowing down the aging process.
